The Retro Computer Museum has an excellent track record in hosting educational events for students from KS1 up to A2 covering the history and evolution of the home computers and consoles from the 1970s to the 1990s.

A hosted event can be tailored to the learning objectives of any formal or informal curriculum - our most popular style is a presenter-led walk through the history looking at the volume of systems throughout the 20 year span and comparing the capabilities of the systems as technology progresses. This format is a full day event and includes 3 hands-on sessions as we "light up" a selection of machines from each era of the home computing/gaming timeline with the final session involving 30 different machines and lasting until the end of the day.

  • Scale: 30+ Systems as appropriate and a limit of around 25 students. Staff numbers are not counted.
  • Pricing: £7.50 per student with £50 non-refundable deposit.
  • Catering: We can provide drinks and snacks for purchase throughout the day, but can not yet provide full catering facilities.

Alternatively we can also bring a small selection of systems into school and run a number of sessions onsite. This allows multiple classes and years to be part of the experience without having to arrange a school trip. Availability of our staff is the only limiting factor as we are staffed entirely by volunteers. All of our equipment is PAT tested as required.

  • Pricing: Depends on duration and travel costs incurred.

Please contact us to discuss your requirement.
